| I adopted Curly February 5, 2005. I adopted his lead mare two weeks later and had the colt "Playboy", who is now called Button. Curly has been a unique fixture in my life ever since. The things I have learned from him about horses are limitless. I have an unusual bond with him. I have used him for parading, search and rescue hunting elk, and riding drag on endurance rides. He is the smartest and toughest horse I have ever owned. He carries my 260 pounds and a heavy saddle. I have never had to do anything to his feet and they stay perfect. I have a full brother to button, recently born in April. I have a half quarter horse filly from Whiskey Girl, his band mare. I believe mustangs are the perfect horse for whatever your needs are. New Mexico has a bounty of mustangs and feral range horses on public and Indian lands. Curly was captured in the Carson National forest between Farmington and Dulce. Many of his kind have shot by ranchers and people that believe these animals to be mongrels. I believe it is our duty as horse loving Americans to preserve the heritage that came here on ships from Spain and became integrated into the lives of all of us. Mustang adoption is rather easy. The cost is $125.00. The application process is simple. Contact: Monero Mustangs Monero Mustangs 505-756-8674 Dulce, New Mexico |
